Sarasota County approved intense development on the corner of Stickney Point and US 41.  FDOT has labeled this intersection as 'F' - Failed road due to an overwhelming number of cars passing through it every day.

Overdevelopment

Sarasota County has continued to approved new developments without a clear plan to handle the traffic

Sewage spills

Sarasota County has dumped one billion gallons of partially treated sewage into the waterways.  The source of the pollution comes from the outdated sewage treatment plant on Bee Ridge Road. News article link
