Letter to editor Herald Tribune 2.17.22
March 8 is an important election day for Sarasota County. The ballot has two measures for all voters.
The Herald-Tribune has provided several articles on what’s at stake in the referendum. On Feb. 12, the Opinion page featured a column by Carrie Seidman, “Don’t fall for misleading effort to end single-member districts.”
In addition to media information, the League of Women Voters of Sarasota County encourages all residents to use https://www.vote411.org. Enter your address and see what is on your ballot and what a “Yes” vote and what a “No” vote yields on the two questions.
VOTE411 is committed to ensuring voters have the nonpartisan information they need to successfully participate in every election. Every election is important to ensuring our laws and policies reflect the values and beliefs of our communities.
Your vote is your voice.
Linda Thompson, president, League of Women Voters of Sarasota County
